Construction of Recess Filter

The Recess filter consists of either one or two segments and a recess at the mouth end. These segments can be of any filter construction, for example, a segment loaded with activated carbon. Typically, the single filter and mouth segment of the dual filter consist of high-quality crimped cellulose acetate.

Both segments are enclosed in plugwrap which can be either standard or porous depending on ventilation requirements. Alternatively, the mouth segment can use non-wrapped acetate for a high-quality end appearance. The filter is then wrapped in an outer plugwrap which is longer than the segments to create the recess. The outer plugwrap is stiff compared to other filter types; can be either standard or porous depending on the required ventilation, and is specially designed to ensure a high-quality appearance.

A wide range of configurations, lengths, circumferences, additive loadings and types can be selected. This ensures each construction is precisely designed to suit the taste and filtration requirements of the customer and enhance a particular brand.
