Tobacco is understandably a heavily regulated sector.  In 2006, 7 out of 10 of all cigarettes sold in the world had a legal limit to their tar and nicotine content; that’s 3.8 trillion cigarettes which needed to be registered with regulators. Each year the legislation to control tobacco products becomes more stringent and more countries introduce thresholds to the content of tobacco products. To operate in this sector you need to understand tobacco and our Scientific Services can work with you to achieve this.

Scientific Services have recently completed an expansion program so we have the additional capacity to meet your tobacco product and filter testing needs at highly competitive prices. Our laboratory has the flexibility to grow with your testing requirements and provide cover during your peak testing periods.

A whole series of commercial tests are available from Scientific Services. We provide not only standard cigarette smoke tests, but also tests for cigars and roll your own (RYO) products. Tar, nicotine and carbon monoxide data can be reported to fulfill common regulator requirements, while the growing demand for tests of the Hoffmann analytes can also be delivered.

We understand that the different markets in which you operate require different testing data and that these requirements are liable to change. Our services are therefore organized into ranges for you to select the most appropriate tests. In addition, we have representatives based across the globe so we can work closely with you to understand your needs and deliver the service you want.
