Health and Hygiene

With support of local governing body and prestigious community health wing of Bangalore Baptist Hospital, a health camp was organized for the residents in the nearby villages. About 475 people, young and old alike, took advantage of the free health checkup and medical advice from specialists in the area of General Health medicine, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Dentistry, Pediatrics and ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat). ‘Health care and Hygiene’, an informative awareness training, was also conducted. ITC Filtrona also continually supports maintenance of health and hygiene facilities and awareness sessions in the neighbouring villages.

Education

ITC Filtrona regularly works with children in the neighbouring village schools encouraging education. ITC Filtrona has donated computer equipment and trained teachers in how to encourage computer literacy and open the vast world of IT to the village children. ITC Filtrona regularly sponsors prizes for outstanding achievements by students in academics and sports in three village schools. ITC Filtrona runs a mini-library in the village to encourage reading and meet quest for knowledge. ITC Filtrona also contributes to infrastructure development and improvement in the village schools and has funded projects such as classroom and playground renovations.

Environment

Environmental education is the key to the future. ITC Filtrona passionately believes in supporting this. Employees visit local schools to  spread awareness on environment. They involve the children and villagers in a tree plantation programme. It also undertakes several competitions for children on topics related to the environment, health and safety to impart awareness.
