The Filtrona Flavour Direct Spray filter provides an effective method of adding flavour to cigarettes to enhance the tobacco blend or extend the range of the existing brand. This filter is available in both slim and super-slim variants.

Construction of Flavour Direct Spray Filter

The Flavour Direct Spray filter consists of an acetate filter with a flavoured additive. It is constructed with high-quality crimped cellulose acetate fibres which are bonded together with a controlled amount of plasticiser to give a firm structure. Alternatively, this filter can be constructed using paper for a higher tar and nicotine retention. This is enclosed in an outer plugwrap which can be either standard or non-porous depending on the ventilation requirements.

The flavour is added by spraying the flavour directly on to the cellulose acetate or paper. Specific amounts of the flavour can be precisely added to the filters. Some of the flavours currently used include: apple, coffee, menthol, orange, peach, and strawberry.

The filter tip length, circumference, pressure drop and flavour strength and type can be varied to suit the taste and filtration requirements of the customer.
