The COR™ filter is comprised of two filter segments surrounding an empty cavity enabling the design of a ventilated cigarette with a significant reduction of carbon monoxide while retaining a similar taste.
The distinct benefits of the COR™ filter are:
The COR™ filter also offers a number of other key benefits:

The COR™ filter consists of a tobacco and mouth segment of high-quality crimped acetate surrounding a hollow central cavity. The mouth segment is constructed with a higher draw resistance than the tobacco segment.
Both segments are enclosed in a plugwrap which can be either standard or porous depending on ventilation requirements. Alternatively, the mouth segment can use non-wrapped acetate for a high-quality end appearance. The central cavity is created as the filter segments are wrapped in an outer plugwrap which can also be standard or porous depending on the required ventilation.
The filter is intended for ventilated products which traditionally tended to reduce tar and nicotine more than they reduced carbon monoxide and other vapour phase gases. The configuration of the COR™ filter is specifically designed to deliver a desired performance. When compared to other filter designs, this results in lower tar retention at an acceptable overall draw resistance and enables higher levels of ventilation to be used to achieve the tar yield, but at reduced carbon monoxide yield.
A wide range of configurations, lengths, and circumferences can be selected. This will allow the development of tightly controlled cigarette solutions, thus enhancing consumer satisfaction.
