The Filtrona Smooth Core Technology™ filter offers a state-of-the-art, unique and brand new patent-pending Technology in carbon filters. The innovative design precisely positions the activated carbon in the centre of the filter for a smoother, cooler taste of a carbon cigarette.

Construction of Smooth Core Technology™

The Smooth Core Technology™ filter consists of high-quality crimped cellulose acetate fibres which are bonded together with a controlled amount of plasticiser to give a firm structure. A precise quantity of activated carbon is then positioned in the centre of the filter in the distinctive pod shape. This is enclosed in an outer plugwrap which can be either standard or porous depending on the ventilation requirements. All of this construction is achieved in a single pass process.

The filter tip is available as standard ‘king size’ circumference with a tip length above 25mm and a carbon loading between 20mg and 50mg, and the pressure drop can be varied to suit the taste and filtration requirements of the customer.
