Sorbic acid

First isolated from the unripe berries of the Rowan, Sirbic acid is often used as preservatives in food and drinks to prevent the growth of mold, yeast and fungi. It is represented by the E number E200. Sometimes it is used in winemaking to add flavour and colour.
